Francis: First Pope in Myanmar

We all feel united with the sisters in Myanmar who in these days live the unique experience of having Pope Francis “at home”! it is the first time ever in the history, a Pope visits this nation.

All our communities have prepared for this event with lively involvement and gathered together in Yangon to welcome him with the joy of dance and the beauty of their characteristic costumes.

Together with this young church we pray so that this may be a journey of hope and of providence, which marks a fruitful stage in the country’s journey towards harmony, love and peace.

Days of joy in Myanmar

18 MARCH 2018, was a wonderful sunny day filled with joy. During the celebration of vespers, 6 new aspirants, Agnese, Cristopher, Martha, Angela, Veronica and Pasqualina entered in postulancy, thus beginning the serious journey of formation. We thank the Lord for these young girls whom He has given us. Let us pray for them so that they may know God's will more and more and serve Him with love.

19 MARCH 2018 we started the day with the Eucharistic celebration presided by the Bishop mons. Peter Louis concelebrated by 14 priests. During this celebration we had the joy of the first profession of the 2 novices, Sr. Rosy Brigit and Sr. Angelina Nan Aye, in our Family of the Sisters of Providence. We thank the Lord who chose these brides by giving them to the Congregation and to the Church. We also thank their parents who gave their daughters for the service of the Kingdom of God.

20 MARCH 2018 was another very bright day because 5 sisters: Sr. Agnes Om Sein, Sr. Clare Aye Ort, Sr. Giovanna Sein Pai, Sr. Benedet Khin and Sr. Mary Htu Buu, have celebrated the Silver Jubilee of their religious profession. During the Eucharistic celebration, presided by Bishop Mons. Peter Louis with 13 priests, together with them we thanked the Lord for these years of joyful fidelity in following Him. Our delegation request all of you to continue to pray for them, so that they may remain faithful till the end, in the generous response to the Bridegroom Jesus.

25 years of fidelity to the fidelity of the Spouse

After 25 years, in an attitude of praise and gratitude, Sr. Benedet has witnessed the same light which represents her following and the adhesion of faith to Jesus; light which has brightened in prayer, in fraternal life and in the apostolic service. In the chapel of our General House in Rome, we joined her in thanking and praising God for her fidelity to the fidelity of the Lord who loved her as unique from all eternity.

Let us pray that the Lord may continue to make her “Yes” fruitful and grant her the grace that her heart desires.

A heartfelt thanks to the celebrant, Rev. Fr. Davide Sciocco, vicar general of PIME, numerous concelebrant priests, our sisters, religious from different congregations, friends and to all those present at this joyous jubilee liturgy.
