This year, the celebration of the solemnity of our Father St. Luigi is enriched with two dates:
- 40 years of his beatification, which took place on 4 October 1981.
- 20 years of his canonization, which took place on 10 June 2001.
The memory of these two anniversaries helps us and urges us on our journey of following the Lord.
In the Gospel of today's liturgy we listened again to the parable of the good Samaritan (Lk 10: 25-37) which ends with Jesus' invitation to the one who had questioned him about his neighbor: "Go and do the same”, ie, he becomes a good neighbor to those he meets.
This is the prayer and the wish that we exchange one another: to commit ourselves to walk on the path of charity, according to the example of our Saint and with his intercession.
