Praise the Lord: eternal is His faithfulness

On January 4, 2019, in the provincial house of Cochabamba, with an immense joy we celebrated the 25 years of consecration of the first Bolivian sister, Sr. Remberta Chileno, who entered in the Family of the Sisters of Providence.

Already on December 4, the date of her profession, she recalled and celebrated the 25 years of her consecrated life in the mission of Buenos Aires, with the presence of the Bishop of St. Martin, Mgr. Miguel Angel D’Anibale, the parish priest Fr. Claudio Snidero, and many brothers and sisters who showed her their affection and gratitude for all what she accomplished in this mission.

In Cochabamba, a group of eight fellow priests, concelebrated the Eucharist together with the parish priest, Fr. Mario de Alarcòn. Almost all the sisters of the community of Bolivia were present and some came from Argentina and Uruguay.

During the Holy Mass, Sr. Remberta, who was very excited, renewed her consecration and thanked the Lord for these 25 years of fidelity, the religious Family for what she received and many people who accompanied along her journey. Her mother, one sister and a nephew were also present.

After the Eucharistic celebration, all those present were invited to “St. Luigi” hall to continue the feast with a special lunch, toast and folk dances.

A day to say thanks to the Lord with the words of Psalm 117: “In His eternal mercy, as to Virgin Mary, also to our Sr. Remberta, God has done great things and has shown His love and His fidelity”

A call and a response to the love of God

On February 10, Sunday, in the provincial house of Cochabamba in Bolivia, with much joy we accompanied our novice, Leonarda Poma, who said her yes to the Lord, pledging to follow Him and to serve Him in His church according to the charism of Fr. Luigi. The Eucharistic celebration in the chapel of St. Mark, was presided over by the parish priest, Fr. Mario Dealarcon, and con celebrated by two other Salesian priests in the presence of family members, friends and acquaintances.

All those who participated in the Holy Mass, received the traditional Bolivian refreshment and the family members together with the sisters and priests shared the lunch in simplicity and fraternity of the meeting.

This feast remains in the heart of Sr. Leonarda as an unforgettable day, because she lived in gratitude with new spirit and enthusiasm in following Jesus in the family of Fr. Luigi.

We sincerely thank the entire Religious Family for the prayers and ask the Lord to continue to bless our Religious Family with new vocations.

You have conquered me, Lord!

On February 3, I pronounced my first vows of chastity, poverty, obedience, in the religious Family of Sisters of Providence, in Brazil.

The day in which the Lord has consecrated me with an indelible sign: LOVE... as the opening song of the Eucharist said: Behold, one day you have conquered me, Lord, and today in the Eucharist I come to seal this love.
With a kiss on the Cross I told him: I will give my life to you, and Jesus replied: I first loved you and gave my life for you. It was really a very deep moment!
I am grateful to God for having counted on me to carry on the mission according to the charism of Father Luigi, our Founder.
I felt very loved also through the small gestures of love that I received from each sister.
Thanks for the unity in prayer; continue to pray for my fidelity to my Divine Spouse Jesus.

                                                                                   Sister Tamiris

Road named after "Sister Maria of the Sisters of Providence"

On 19 March 2019, the road that runs alongside "The Garden of a Thousand Colours", the Scampia Play Centre, was named after Sister Maria of the Sisters of Providence.

She was born in 1819 and passed away in 1855, which indicates her short life spent for the benefit of the 'derelicts', to the point of sacrificing herself to assist the little cholera patient like a mother and then to die herself after only three hours.
An emblematic name, that of Sr. Maria, which recalls the generous and unconditional dedication of many other sisters who lived and live in the territory of Naples: alongside the sick in the Sanatorium 'Monaldi' from 1938 to 1991, and in the Sanatrix Clinic in the neighbourhood of Vomero from 1963 to 1970;in the Casa Famiglia of the Rione Luzzatti from 1987 to 1995, and now here in Scampia for about 30 years, at the service of the most needy children and their families, offering care, support, listening, education ... with a charity to the fullest.

The title of the street was part of the 'March Donna2019' programof the municipality of Naples with the titles dedicated to female characters to give space to the city toponymy to artists, scientists, women who with their civil, political and social commitment have marked history.

The event took place in the presence of the Mayor, Luigi de Magistris, of other Municipality authorities who contributed to the realization of this initiative and of a public, made up of children and adults.

The final invitation for everyone was to make a "talking" plaque dedicated to Sr. Maria a plaque that tells everyone: "Don't be selfish, put the good of others at the centre of your daily actions!"

What shall I render to the Lord?

Sunday, 5 May 2019 - Rome, General House

"What shall I render to the Lord for all His bounty to me?"(Ps. 115) .

This is the question that resounded in the heart ofSister TEREZA TOMA, in celebrating the 25th anniversary of her religious consecration in the Family of the Sisters of Providence.
The answer she found deep in her heart again in the words of the Psalm:
“I will offer to thee, the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord”.

Thanksgiving for the past, full of the infinite mercy of God who has traced a path of novelty and providence for her, calling her from Romania to follow Him as daughter of St. Luigi Scrosoppi.
Thanksgiving for the present, still lived faithfully in the following of Jesus, in the daily service to the sisters of the general house of Rome.
Thanksgiving for the future, with the firm hope that He will continue to lead her by the hand, giving her the grace of His Spirit every day.

The fraternal wish for Sister Tereza is that, she may joyfully repeat her daily YES, by growing in love for the Bridegroom Jesus and in giving herself to the brothers and sisters.

50 years from the first Yes!

With a heart full of joy and gratitude to God, the entire province of San Geatano joined Sr. Manuela Panni to thank the Lord for His great love for her and for the gift of vocation.
The celebration began on Friday, 6th September, with a vigil prayer, during which Sr. Manuela lit 50 candles and narrated us about her journey of mission during thelong 50 years of her consecrated life.
On Saturday, 7th September, the feast day, we had a beautiful Jubilee Eucharistic celebration with full of significant elements. It was a moment of witness for many people who celebrated this feast with us, in a spirit of fraternity and simplicity.
Let us continue to sing unceasingly the mercy of the Lord, who works wonders in the life of those who give all of themselves for love of Him and of His people.
THANK YOU dear Sr. Manuela, for your testimony, which encourages us to walk in joy and in fidelity to the vocation of the daughters of Father Luigi, animated also by the words of Pope Francis who reminds us that "the Consecrated Life is a precious Gift for the whole Church and for the world, which should not be held only for ourselves, but shared ”.

If you knew the gift of God

«If you knew the gift of God and who is the one who says to you:
"Give me a drink!" you yourself would have asked him and he would have given you living water». Jn. 4:10

FIRST PROFESSION OF SR. SHERON MIRANDA - Sorocaba, Brazil-15, September 2019

"I thank the Lord with all my heart for the grace of finding me on His journey, to make me experience His eternal love and predilection for sinners and to ensure that my littleness should be a sign and witness of saving many brothers and sisters that He Himself places on my path.
I thank the religious Family for the trust and closeness in prayer.
Thanks to the Province of Nostra Signora Aparecida for welcoming me, and the sisters of the formation community, and those of the Provincial House, the Mothers of Santa Terezinha Community, for their testimony, for all the opportunities they offered for my growth and formation. They were four beautiful, intense and very fruitful years, which helped me to discern the will of God in my life, and they encouraged me to pronounce my Yes to Him. The day of my first profession was a beautiful day: I felt as if each one of my sisters at that moment offered me on the altar to the Father along with His Son, to walk together on the road of Holy Love.
I thank you all for every gesture of affection and unity that you have manifested to me in different ways. Our Beloved Spouse is faithful, but I ask you to continue to pray for my fidelity and perseverance in self-giving, love and service in the mission that He asks me, now, in the Community of Santa Fe, in Argentina".

Sister Sheron

Together with Sister Sheron, we, the sisters of the Province of St. Luigi, joyfully celebrated her first YES in Sorocaba. We are grateful because her presence is a gift of Providence to our Religious Family and we thank the sisters of the Province of Nostra Signora Aparecida, especially those who have received her and offered formation and guidance. it is a great joy for the sisters of Uruguay: after 25 years, God in His mercy, has sent a new vocation in the person of Sister Sheron with her YES to the Lord.

We continue to pray and work for vocations.

With profound joy - St. Luigi Province.

A happy announcement...

On 5 October, while the Church and our religious Family celebrate the sanctity of our beloved father Luigi, we, the sisters of the province of San Gaetano, had the joy of celebrating the first profession of four sisters: Sr. Epiphanie Baba, Sr. Marie - Reine Kakaoura, Sr. Epiphanie- Reine Kpade and Sr. Benjamine Tchadi. Their "Yes", with full of enthusiasm, filled us with joy and hope in seeing how the sanctity of Father Luigi continues to attract young women in following the chaste, poor and obedient Christ.
Since the tradition in Africa is that every important event is preceded by a vigil, so too, on the eve of the consecration, the sisters of the three Togolese communities, gathered around the four novices. Those moments spent in prayers, singing and sharing the journey made, were intense moments of gratitude and new impetus to follow Jesus in the Family of Father Luigi. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist, in the presence of 10 priests and with the participation of our sisters' family members, friends and acquaintances, was the highlight of the celebration. In the homily, the priest, inspired by the words of Pope Francis for the extraordinary missionary month "baptized and sent", recalled the apostolic legacy of Father Luigi and the sisters who preceded us and invited the newly professed and all those who were present there, to follow their example and not to give in to the modern temptation of the so-called "chronic fatigue", but let ourselves be infected by the sanctity and apostolic zeal of Father Luigi.
Then, in simplicity and joy, the celebration continued with the sharing of lunch and again with songs and dances! We sincerely thank the sisters of the various parts of the world for the prayers and manifestations of affection received in these days and we pray that the Lord will give each one, the graces necessary to live one’s own vocation in fidelity and charity.

Fascinated by the beauty of Christ

The novice, Tereza Barlescu, made her first religious profession on Saturday, 11 January 2020, during the Holy Mass, celebrated in Iasi, Romania, in the chapel of the "Holy Family" Delegation house. It is a reason for great joy for the whole Delegation, joy intertwined with gratitude towards the Master of the harvest for this generous "Yes", which has become a gift to the religious Family and to the Church. Let us invoke for Sr. Tereza, the gift of fidelity towards the Bridegroom and pray that other young women too, fascinated by the beauty of Christ, will have the courage to listen to His voice and to follow Him.

Here are the impressions of the 'bride':

At this moment I can only express my gratitude to God who can accomplish, through my smallness, what He wants; I express my gratitude to the religious Family who welcomed me in her womb as a daughter and accompanied my steps throughout the time of formation, guiding me with patience and love towards Jesus and towards the knowledge of the Congregation.

Words are not enough to describe this moment, but I can testify to the great joy, peace and serenity with which the Lord accompanied me in these moments full of emotion, but also of fear in front of the greatness to which He called me.
Aware of my fragility and littleness, I put all my trust in Him who always transforms the impossible into possible.
Recalling that we do not consecrate ourselves either to escape from the world, or to have a more comfortable and peaceful life, but to give ourselves to our brothers and sisters, to bring a ray of light through our presence which is not simply ours, but of God and of the Church, and all we offer is His gift.

"God, who inspired your will and started this good work in you,
carry it out until the day of Christ the Lord, and give you the grace to remain faithful and zealous towards Him."
(From the rite of profession)
